Sears Give Together
Sears recently launched a new feature on their website that is very innovative.
Here is the scenario. You want to get a gift for someone that is a little “more expensive” and the only way to do it is go in with friends or family. Instead of one person paying for it and everyone one else owing money, paypaling, etc, Sears make it an easy part of their shopping experience. Create a goal, add people to the group, track the money, give the gift.
It will be interesting to see how much this takes off and if it generates net increases in orders or simply replaces how people but it things today. Either way, I think it is a great example of a company understanding the way people buy things and providing a tool to solve an everyday problem. Check it out here.
